Divine Providence
On day 174
In David Bowie’s magnum opus of a song “Space Oddity” (written in the 1960s weirdly enough before Ziggy Stardust was a speck in the sky) there is a countdown to liftoff. I’m a mere 6 days away, and I am counting down. Five days tomorrow!
But wait, I have to tell myself, JEM, Jenny, Juanita, whatever you call yourself today, don’t get ahead of yourself. Live in the today. In the now.
So here I am, on day 174. It does feel like providence. It was meant to be. I’ve had so much going on these last 174 days. I turned in my manuscript for book 3 and I am not sure it would have got done if I was drinking.
And Pippin’s chronic health issues are so disturbing. I've had to reconcile he’s not well. Then his sister Princess was sick this weekend, I think she had gas from the homemade food. I think I even said aloud, really? I can’t do two sick dogs! Truth is, I can and Princess is much better after some yogurt dog treats for the gas. She looked like a potbelly pig for a bit. Pippin’s brother Merry, my Snow White shihtzu, who had hip surgery right when we got the 3 puppy siblings, seems weirdly enough to be the healthiest.
Now I know this is not a dog blog. But they’re a huge part of my life and that is providence too. On day 174.
