Pride
On day 307
I am a proud person. Proud of where I came from. Proud of being from Ontario, California. Proud of being a lawyer and a writer.
But I’m not proud it took me so long to see that I needed to stop drinking. It was hard. I didn’t want to change my life. I was scared.
But then, once I took a deep breath or two or three, and came to some realizations, I saw that life is short. You just live life like there is no tomorrow while understanding that your future is in your hands.
I really don’t like the idea that this program is a cult. That recovery is bullshit indoctrination. It’s not. It’s about practicing the steps to a better life.
How is that a bad thing? Being accountable and not reactive and in the end, happier. Healthier. More centered. Proud.
On day 307.

People don’t understand AA because you have to be in AA to get it. Plus, it’s so deep it’s easier to keep it at the stereotype level. It’s truly a God inspired program I believe. I know that sounds cultish but it’s not. I just think some things come into this physical world because the world needs it desperately. This is a spiritual program for material beings.
I’m proud of you, sounding hokey again but I mean it.
